President Bush Signs Bill Funding DoD Autism Reasearch Program for Third Straight Year
(Washington, DC - September 30, 2008) Today, President Bush signed into law H.R. 2638, an omnibus measure that in included the final Fiscal 2009 Defense, Homeland Security, Military Construction/Veterans Administration Appropriations bills as well as a stop-gap Continuing Resolution for the remainder of the appropriations bills.
Within the Fiscal 2009 Defense Appropriations bill, Congress provided $8 million for the Defense Department-funded autism research program. This
represents a 25 percent increase over the $6.4 million provided for the autism research program in the previous year.
The Fiscal 20909 funding marks the third year that Congress has recommended funding for the Defense-funded autism research program. |
