U.S. House Representatives Mike Doyle (PA), Chris Smith (NJ), and Carolyn McCarthy (NY) has sent out a Dear Colleague letter to your Representative urging him/her to sign on to an appropriations request for funding to help advance autism research, surveillance and detection. Specifically, these Representatives are requesting that the DOD Appropriations Subcommittee provide $15 million for autism research in FY2011 for the Department of Defense Autism Research Program. They are also requesting that the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education Subcommittee provide full funding for the 4th year of the Combating Autism Act (CAA) in 2011.
